Behind the front a dog handler has brought his wounded dog to the ‘Hund Lazarett’, the dog hospital, for treatment. The Germans used trained dogs to carry messages and look for wounded men with a small first aid kit strapped to the dog’s back.

This is a blog dedicated to the Fallschirmjäger (German Paratrooper) of World War Two. This is not intended to glorify, incite any political/racial ideology, or for that matter lighten the matters of combat in WWII. It is intended for those who have an interest in this fascinating and illustrious part of human history.
